Mini-LARP FAQ

1. Will I be able to play my own character during the mini-LARPs? No. These mini-LARP characters will not be the regular PCs, but rather special characters created for these 3-hour events *only*, that will not transfer back to the regular campaign.

2. Will I ever get to play my mini-LARP character(s) again? No. This is a one-time only event.

3. Will I be able to know ahead of time what my mini-LARP character(s) will be? Not really. We're allowing players to pre-choose their race (so as to costume to whatever level they see fit), but as we've had problems with pre-casting in the past, we've chosen to not pre-cast these events. Characters will be handed out at the door, to those players that are there at the time. This way, we hope to avoid last-minute cancellations due to accident, injury, having to work at the last minute, or sleeping late.

4. Do I have any input as to what character I get? Yes. As stated above, you'll be able to pre-choose your race if you like. Once at the door, you'll choose from a list of characters that are available. Each character will have a short summary of who and what that person is, so you'll be able to choose a character that fits your particular playing preferences. A GM will also be at the door to assist you in your choices.

5. If I play in one of the first set of mini-LARPs, do I have to play in the second set?  No. Each mini-LARP is completely separate from the others, and none of them are a pre-requisite for the others. If you play in the morning mini-LARPs, you are not obligated to play in the afternoon minis, and if you don't play in the morning minis, you're still welcome to play in one in the afternoon.

6. What happens to my regular Svaha character, while I'm playing in a mini-LARP? While the mini-LARPs are running, regular game play is suspended. We just don't have enough GMs (or the space!) to run 3 mini-LARPs as well as our normal Svaha game. Since we hope that everyone will play in the mini-LARPs, there wouldn't be anyone to interact with during them anyway.

Mini-LARP Descriptions

Mini-LARPS from 10am-1pm

The Attack on Rall: New military and scientific breakthroughs have finally made an attack on Rall a possibility. Play an LFS commander during the assault, or one of their diplomatic, tactical or scientific assistants. Note that while this event will have a definite role-playing aspect, a large part of the event will be governed by a "wargame/boardgame" like "attack". (Races available - Clarin: 2; Gryxmerens: 3; Marda: 1; Norag: 2; N'rall: 3; Ogaru: 1; Vihr: 3)

Internal Strength: A steady feeling of unrest has been growing on Ruia. Something almost palpably wrong has been felt by all, and recently images in the Yaelan have become troubling as well.  Is this a problem that can be dealt with by the citizens of Ruia or will off-world help be needed? Will that help even be accepted, if it's offered? What can it all mean? All this is up to you to discover.  (Races available - Vihr: 1; N'rall: 1; Wel: 1; Vraxian: 1; Rawanese: 11)

The Bottom Line: The Primar of the Clarin and her council of Advisor-Laurels have been in complex negotiations with representatives from three Vraxian corporations for several months now. Several very *frustrating* months for Spaceways Overland, WellCare, and Vraxhis One, as the Clarin council has refused to sign any of their proposed contracts.

Tonight, however, that's supposed to change. Representatives from all three corporations have been invited by the council to a reception, after which, they have been promised, matters will be finalized, and the relationship between Vraxian and Clarin will be made clear. (Races available - Clarin: 9; Marda: 1; Stelik: 1; Vraxians: 4)

Mini-LARPS from 8pm-11pm

Mardan Science Conference: The Technocratic Convention of the Marda is hereby called at Filabrilax by a majority vote of the standing Technocrats. Submissions of papers are required from all leading Technocrats and Enclave leaders. Participation is mandatory, although the listed leaders may send proxies to argue their cases. The course of Mardan civilization, given the Empiric situation, the continuing degeneration of Gryxmere, difficulties with the Stelik, the “Ogaru” Lost Ones, and the possible reemergence of GC-7 in mutated forms will be debated. Competitions of mind and power will be held as well. Outside species interested in presenting papers must submit to the usual quarantine period. Entry of other species is by the direct invitation of a standing Technocrat only. That is all. (Races available - Marda: 10; Stelik: 3; Gryxmerens: 1; Thish Wan: 1)

Alien Interests: Each Ogaru citizen in the city of Ogru knows of the Overlord’s current campaign to purge the stain of alien influence from the planet Ghurgha, and most agree with it. But why is the Overlord holding a secret meeting with an ambassadorial group of Tlocassans? Only the Overlord and his inner circle will truly know for sure, and the Tlocassans will soon find out. (Races available - Ogaru: 10; Tlocassans: 5)

Entangling Interests: A continuation to "The Attack on Rall" mini-LARP, this time focusing entirely on the diplomatic missions after the attack. Players will take on the roles of either members of the S'rallian Empire's high command, or of various LFS diplomats, some of whose allegiances are torn between the LFS's aims and those of their home planets. Players who wish to continue their roles from Part One will be given first choice for this mini-LARP. (Races available - Clarin: 1; Gryxmerens: 1; Marda: 1; Norag: 1; N'rall: 3; Ogaru: 1; Thizzen: 6; Vihr: 1)
