Dark Ages Mind's Eye Theatre: In the Mountain's Shadow

Players: 50

The year is 1204 A.D.  It is mere years before the War of Princes will begin to rage across the face of Europe.  Anarchs and rebels alike are already beginning to undermine the seeds of the Feudal system long embraced by many of the clans.  The Tzimisce have begun their war with the Tremere over many issues, a few of them being land and the creation of gargoyles.  The Salubri have become rare and it is rumored that Saulot is now dead!  Constantinople stands in ruin...and it is rumored that Michael the Patriarch is no more...mere ash upon the wind.

The peace of the Long Night has ended.  The world is changing.  The church is beginning to purge itself and the world of the "creatures of darkness".  The times to come will be hard and indeed frought with peril.  How will you play your part in the shadow of the great mountain?

This is a continuation of Nightfall Productions' acclaimed Dark Ages chronicle. New players are encouraged. Think again.

You can do anything you want -- but so can everyone else. Use Pentacles, Chalices, Wands, and Swords in a struggle to further your own schemes. Alter events in the mortal world and influence your fellow deities. After all, if you get caught, who can judge you? YOU ARE A GOD.

La Soiree Finale

Players: 30

Paris was the most civilized city in the world. It had more automobiles than any other city - the average middle class family owned one. All of the modern conveniences we think of today - telephone, radio, even television, were available to Parisians of 1940. France was a world leader in science, and had already produced heavy water, one of the keys to the atom bomb.

Electric appliances lined the kitchens, and the middle class Parisian worked a 9 to 5 office job, and took his family out on Sunday. The French lived behind the security of the Maginot Line, the most formidable defensive structure ever constructed by a major military power - a fortification that even by today’s standards would be virtually unassailable.

The signs of war are everywhere, but that doesn’t mean that Paris is a dull place. The nightclubs are open, though they have blackout curtains over the windows. On the Champs Elysees the Lido Club and Jockey Club are open. The Opera is in full swing, and everywhere the air is filled with the sounds of Big Band, Swing and Jazz. Paris’ most famous brothel, “One-Two-Two” is doing hot business. The Fine hotels, the Crillon, the Ritz, the Hotel des Louvres are all open, and filled to capacity. The metro hums day and night. There is caviar and champagne everywhere. In England travel agents display posters saying “Visit Paris in the Springtime - Don’t let Hitler Spoil your Holiday.” The Spring of 1940 - nearly everyone agrees - is one of the most beautiful on record.

In June of 1940 these fashionable middle class people choked the roads of France in one of the greatest traffic jams in history as they fled the City of Lights, they slept in ditches or on the road. Most eventually returned to live under Nazi occupation for half a decade. Others ardently participated in the travesty of the Vichy Government.

This is not a story of the remote past. In all probability, your mother or father was alive in 1940, though fairly young. This happened less than one full generation ago. You may well live in a house that was standing then, and you almost certainly own furniture made before that time. In historical terms, the fall of Paris was but yesterday, and only the enormity of the Second World War separates it from our concept of “modern times.”

June 13. Three French armies are in desperate retreat across torn and broken landscape, horribly defeated. At Dunkirk, the British are saved from annihilation only by a heroic evacuation by sea which leaves the continent virtually without defenses. The Luftwaffe has stolen the sky, and Heinkel and Dornier bombers have rained death upon the proud French Capital, blasting apartments, and damaging the Renault factory.

German troops have nearly encircled Paris. The city is a ghost town. Thronged a few days before with millions of refugees, only about 700,000 remain - the rest have fled to the south, leaving hundred mile lines of stranded motorcars, trucks, and abandoned luggage. A massive purge of suspected spies has left many of the citizens of Paris as much in fear of their own government as the Nazis. But the French Government is in its death throes.

Nine out of ten night spots are closed, but here and there a few places remain open, catering to those who remain. A mixed lot. The desperate, who want to get out. The stubborn who will not leave. Nightclub singers. Criminals. Police. Neutral American tourists. Brilliant authors with little to lose, and industrialists with too much to lose. The poor. Lifelong Parisians. Foreign refugees, who can run no further. The Educated and the ignorant. Extremists - Communists plotting resistance to the Nazi occupation, rising number of French Fascists, who feel betrayed by the weak French Government and will support Marshal Petain’s Vichy Regime.

This is a story about some people and their adventures in a difficult time. It has no moral, and no message. But it exists against a backdrop that conveys a message basic to all human endeavor.

Limbo: A Minimalist LARP

Players: 20

Another experimental LARP of the Minimialist genre*

The term “limbo” has at least 7 common English definitions and over 10 synonyms. The game LIMBO is an intense character-driven LARP limited only by the imagination of its players and the minimum concepts presented by the GM through character archetypes, all-encompassing goals and three pre-conceived groups of characters. Become inspired. Stretch your creativity. Challenge your pre-conceived notions of LARP and discover limbo.

Players who register early will be provided with their character type, goals and items in advance.  Players who register on-site can easily be provided all necessary info to “jump” into game just prior to game.  All players will receive only a minimum of information. The over-riding goal of the Minimalist genre is to stretch the boundaries of what is needed to create a LARP scenario and what is needed in order to inspire player imagination.  Character, environment and thematic description is minimal, Props and Items are plentiful.

How creative are you? Be all that You Can Be. Play Limbo and find out your limits.

This game will run three times - once on Friday night, once on Saturday morning, and once on Sunday morning..

*Previous players and GMs of The Minimalist LARP or the minimalist genre are encouraged to play Limbo. However, they MUST [honor code] alert the GM in advance of their experience.

Little Petshop of Horrors

Players: 25

A horror story from a whole different perspective.  What's with that new cat just shipped in from Egypt?  What have the mice been up to behind the walls?  Aren't iguanas supposed to be vegetarians?  Why do animals disappear after the vet's weekly visits?  What's that odd blue wire under the poodle's cage?

Play an animal and learn fear through their eyes, or play a human and learn that talking animals may be the least of your troubles...

To contact the GMs, please e-mail renarastar@hotmail.com

Nobilis: It's Gonna be a Hot Time Tonight!

Players: 25

Summer is slowly coming to a close….or at least it should be.  You and some of the other Nobles in the area have noticed that rather than the heat receding and leaves changing, it actually appears to be getting warmer.  When you look for the Nobles of Summer and Winter, you can't seem to find either of them.  Hmmm….this is not good.  A new refuge has formed in the area and there is threat of the balance being tipped.  If this oddity of the seasons isn't proof of that enough, what more do you need?  The Nobles must be located, the refuge must be spoken with, and things must be put back in balance.  Otherwise, this could become a fatal error in judgment.

To contact the GM's, please e-mail NPCNightfall@aol.com, and be sure to specify "Intercon Gazebo" and the name of this LARP in your e-mail.

Og: The Larp: A Long Time Ago, in a Cave Far, Far Away

To contact the GM, please e-mail Paul@wildgazebo.com.

Shattered Gravestones

Players: 12

The old Lord of Talmyra was seen wandering the streets last week, with his fair Lady on his arm. The only problem is that they have both been dead for twenty years! Why are undead coming from their graves to plague the living? A scholar of King Mykel is looking to hire a group to find out, and there's been rumors of a great treasure as well.

Props, boffer weapons, spell packets and costuming... we supply it all and all we need is players to have fun. You even get to keep your treasure when you leave!

Characters are provided, no experience is needed, and all new players are welcome. You can find more information about NERO at www.neronewjersey.com or www.nerolarp.com.

Star Wars: Only Time Never Stops

Players: 25

The time is four years before the battle of Yavin (4 BBY).  The Empire has locked the travel routes down more tightly than ever before in the quadrant. The stirrings of the Rebellion have finally grown from quiet rumblings to shouts of discontent backed with action. The Universe is trembling and on the brink of a war that will change its face once more. More and more frequently people are forced to use convoys to travel as private spacers. These convoys keep disappearing, time and time again. Now disaster has struck in a way that no one, not rebel or imperial alike saw coming!

The convoy that you have been traveling in seems to have passed through the trail of a nearby comet. This appears to have ripped the ships from hyperspace. No fatalities or major injuries occurred anywhere at the time of the incident except to the Mother ship and its bridge crew, lucky for you. However, things are far from good. The convoy is lost in the depths of uncharted space. There is a limited amount of supplies on board to sustain all of the crew for this journey.  If that wasn't bad enough, in the past 24 hours people have been getting sick. This is a deteriorating illness that none of the med-techs have ever seen before. The clock is ticking and you are still in an uncharted area…. What will you do?

For more information on this game, see http://www.nightfall-larp.com/Star_Wars.html. To contact the GM's, please e-mail NPCNightfall@aol.com, and be sure to specify "Intercon Gazebo" and the name of this LARP in your e-mail.

Svaha: The Bottom Line

Players: 12

The Primar of the Clarin and her council of Advisor-Laurels have been in complex negotiations with representatives from three Vraxian corporations for several months now. Several very *frustrating* months for Spaceways Overland, WellCare, and Vraxhis One, as the Clarin council has refused to sign any of their proposed contracts.

Today, however, that's supposed to change. Representatives from all three corporations have been invited by the council to a reception, after which, they have been promised, matters will be finalized and the relationship between Vraxian and Clarin will be made clear.

A game set in WGP’s science fiction universe, Svaha. For more information on the universe, including race details, see the Svaha section of this website.
