February 5, 2006:  We've been asked to run a LARP at Intercon F, to fill in for a game that had to cancel.  We're pleased and proud to run Divus Ex: Greece. It ran once before, at Intercon D, and we're happy to have the chance to bring the Greek Pantheon back for the Intercon crowd.  See you there!

December 28, 2004: Happy Holidays everyone!

We hope that everyone out there is having a great holiday season. Our thanks once again for all of the support we've received over the years, and our best wishes for a safe and happy 2005.

July 27, 2004: WGP's Rebuilding Phase

We've been running on all cylinders since March of 2000 and personally, professionally and fiscally, the pace has taken it's toll. After four years of this pace we're a little burnt, and the idea of keeping up with our own schedule is a bit daunting.

So after four years of rampant growth, we're taking some time to rebuild. We've been growing at such a furious pace that we haven't always had time to put the proper infrastructure in place underneath it. Now it's time to slow down, build carefully, and be able to continue growing in a year or so. stronger than ever.

There won't be a Lollagazebo this year, and we probably will not do A Gazebo of Games in the spring of 2005.  For the rest of 2004, and probably all of 2005, we'll be doing single-track and dual-track events only. Saturdays only. One event in 2004, and 4 events in 2005.

We'll start with a Boardgaming Day this fall - we'll release dates as soon as they're available.

Thanks for your patience, and for all of your support for the past 4 years. The positive feedback that we get from so many of you makes everything we do worthwhile.

-Trey

May 6, 2004: Thanks to everyone who joined us for A Gazebo of Games 2004!  We had a great time, seeing all of our old friends again and making new ones. Thanks to all of you who came and gamed, and thanks for all of the great compliments you gave us!

Our GM gift bags seem to have gone over very well - it was wonderful to see all of our GMs already starting to use them. We'll be continuing this particular practice in the future. If you have a suggestion as to a possible GM gift, please let us know. We want our gifts to be things our GMs will use and enjoy, so your opinion is especially important. Thanks again to all of you who gave so much of your time to help make our convention great!

Special Congratulations to our tournament winners:

· 100 Xactika Tournament: Daniel C. Dollbaum

· Rio Grande Tournament winners:  Art Lobell (First Place), Heather Hova (Second Place), and Hank Griffin (Third Place)

· The Northeast Regional Puerto Rico Championships: Bill Simonitis

· Munchkinpalooza  II (the Northeast Regional Munchkin Championships): Alex Felman

Great job, folks!

Several people have asked us what happened to our Bravo team. Unfortunately, the show was so new, all of their paperwork was unable to be completed with Bravo in time for them to attend A Gazebo of Games. The team worked extremely hard up until the very last minute to try to get things in order for them to come, but finally had to make the decision to cancel on Friday morning. We're still working to bring them to a future WGP event, and we'll keep all of you updated as things progress.

Speaking of future events: we're in the midst of securing dates for a couple of events, and will let you know as soon as we have details. We'll be shaking up the format in the coming year or so - doing more game days and a couple of dedicated events. As any convention organizer can tell you, full-service, full-weekend conventions are a heck of a lot of work to produce, and cost a heck of a lot as well. We're trying to change things up a bit to bring you the maximum amount of gaming we can, without stressing your wallet, our wallets, or our staff.

And speaking of the staff: there are a *lot* of people who make this whole company work, and who get little in return beyond the satisfaction of a job well done. Thank you to all of our full-time staff, our onsite staff, and our volunteers - there is literally no way this would all get done without you, and we very much appreciate all of your time, expertise, and effort.

Thanks again for coming to A Gazebo of Games 2004!

April 23, 2004: All the news that's fit to print...

· Bravo TV (the same folks that brought you Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Inside the Actor's Studio, and many, many reruns of The West Wing) are bringing a new show to A Gazebo of Games!

While we can't release details on the show until Saturday morning of the convention, we're very excited that a Bravo film crew will be with us at A Gazebo of Games, filming the convention for their pilot episode and joining in the fun.

· Prize Guy Steve Hess has informed us that we have over $3000 in prizes to give away at A Gazebo of Games. Among those prizes are fifteen passes to this year's GenCon Indy! Steve's really outdone himself this time, and we're overjoyed to constantly have such an amazing number of prizes to give away to our convention attendees.

· Guest of Honor Tony DiGerolamo has signed a deal with Living Room Games to publish Tony DiGerolamo's Complete Mafia for d20 towards the end of this year.  He'll be bringing a copy of the game to playtest, and so that the AGoG attendees can get a sneak peek. As the deal was just signed on April 20th, AGoG attendees will be among the first to view this great new game!

· We've updated the events for A Gazebo of  Games on this site, and uploaded our complete schedule as a PDF. It's fully printable, for those of you who hate reading event lists onscreen. Some new events have been added, so take a look!

· We're happy to announce that Craig Enslin has joined our list of exhibitors for A Gazebo of Games 2004! We've been trying for years to get Craig to come to one of our shows, but scheduling has never quite worked out till now.

· Interactivities, Ink will also be joining us in the Exhibitor's Room, for the second time.  They're also running several LARPs over the course of AGoG, and their new board game, IGOR: The Mad Scientist's Lament. Welcome back, folks!

· Speaking of Exhibitors, we've taken a moment to collate a list of all of the companies that have supported us in the last year or so. There's a variety of ways in which we define support - advertising, exhibiting at one of our conventions, or donating prizes to the acclaimed WGP Prize Table. We've been blessed with a wealth of industry support, and wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the sheer number of companies who've helped us to make our convention dreams a reality. Thanks!

There's only one week left until A Gazebo of Games - see you there!

April 10, 2004: The event descriptions for A Gazebo of Games 2004 are up!

The schedule is complete, and is live. Thanks to everyone who helped get this to the web! Thanks as well to all of you who waited so patiently, and with such understanding.

Now that everything is live, register for all of your AGoG 2004 games!

While you’re registering, don’t forget to book your hotel room!  The Sheraton Edison at Raritan Center is a great hotel, and was very, very full the last time we hosted an event there. The room rate is $79 per night – tell them you’re with Wild Gazebo Productions, to take advantage of the convention rate. Our room block deadline is April 15th - if you reserve your room after then, we can't guarantee that you'll receive the reduced rate. Call 732-225-8300 to make your reservation.

See you in a few weeks!

March 29, 2004: Back from ICON, with the AGoG event schedule!

Thanks to everyone who came out for ICON this past weekend! We had an absolute blast, and hope that all of you did as well. Met some new friends, saw some old friends, played some new games, introduced the new friends to new games - couldn't ask for a better time.

Add to that the fact that veteran Gazeboteers Ben Moskowitz and Deb Reigelsburger tied the knot this weekend, and you have a group of very, very happy WGP-folk. Congratulations again, you two!

    ·       ·       ·

Somehow, in the midst of conventions and dancing, we managed to put in some serious time on the website. The event grids for A Gazebo of Games 2004 are up! The event descriptions will be up soon, but we wanted to give all of you a look at the full schedule as soon as we could. Enjoy!

Call 732-225-8300 to make your reservation.

Next weekend: MEPACon!

March 22, 2004: Back from Intercon D and GAMA!

Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend and played in Divus Ex: Greece at Intercon D!

We had a wonderful time, and hope that all of you did as well. Thank you all for making our Greek Gods and Goddesses come to life, and picking up their personalities and running with it as much as you did. Several things happened that we hadn’t ever dreamed of, and all were delightful surprises!  It was great to work with such a creative and enthusiastic bunch of LARPers, and we’d love to have all of you play in the next Divus installment we run (whenever that is).

Also - if you have any suggestions as to how the game can improve (characters, mechanics, plot), please send them along as well. This was the first time this particular game has run, and there’s always room to improve things before we run it again.

Thanks again for playing in our game!

    ·       ·       ·

The schedule of events for A Gazebo of Games 2004 should be up this week – we’re running a bit behind due to regular-life concerns. Thanks to everyone who has been pitching in to help get the schedule together!

Since we’re running a bit behind calendar, we’ve decided to extend the pre-registration deadline till next Friday, April 2nd. With or without events, take a moment to register, and take advantage of the reduced rate!

Call 732-225-8300 to make your reservation.

March 11, 2004:  Off to Intercon D, and then to GAMA!

It's been a chaotic couple of weeks, as we've been prepping Divus Ex: Greece to run this weekend at Intercon D.  We're happy to say that not only is the game full, but there's a waiting list of players who want to get into the game!  We're delighted that there's been such interest, and have already started thinking about when and where we'll run the game again.

We leave tomorrow for the road trip up to Chelmsford, and can't wait to game with all of our Intercon friends again!

Right after Intercon, we fly out to GAMA, at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas. This will be the first GAMA for the WGP team, and we're incredibly psyched to be going. We'll be speaking on panels, cruising the Exhibit Hall, helping out at the convention, and just generally running around Vegas. If you see us (look for the bowling shirts), be sure to come over and say hello!

As soon as we come back, we jump straight into A Gazebo of Games mode. We know some of you are chomping at the bit, waiting for the schedule to go up so you can register - it'll be up soon, we promise!

February 20, 2004:  We’re looking to upgrade the WGP website – better design, better graphics, and more features and functionality.

Unfortunately, none of the members of the WGP staff have the expertise needed to accomplish the web redesign we need.

If *you* have the expertise we need, and are willing to redesign our website for us (in exchange for free passes to our conventions, convention t-shirts, recognition on the website and our undying affection), please contact Trey.

Specifications:

  • Design to be completed by June 1, 2004.

  • Incorporates our company colors of maroon, and grey, with accents of black and white.

  • Incorporates the company logo.

  • Has a white background, for easy printing.

  • Has a gazebo (of course).

  • Can be updated by members of the WGP staff.

There’s more, but how far we take this mostly depends on you, your level of expertise, and the time you have available to help.  We’ve got a wide assortment of things we’d like to be able to offer the gaming community – we just need a website to help us do it.

Thanks for listening, and huge thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to help!

January 25, 2004: We've had a change of Boardgaming Coordinator. Sandy Hess informed us recently that she was going to have to take a step back from Wild Gazebo, as real life has been pressing a bit too hard on her lately. Sandy's been with us from the beginning, and we never would have gotten to where we are today without her. Many, many thanks go to Sandy for all of her hard work, and we look forward to seeing a more relaxed Sandy kicking our butts in the Boardgaming Room at A Gazebo of Games.

Taking on the very daunting task of attempting to fill Sandy's august shoes is J. Carpio "Dregg". Dregg is relatively new member of the East Coast gaming scene, coming to us from San Francisco, California. He wasted no time in getting heavily involved with things over here, however, as he's involved with putting together the gaming track for I-Con, and is also working on his own RPG company, Chapter 13 Press. He also runs demos for Cheapass Games and Eden Studios. He's a busy guy, and we're happy to have someone so enthusiastic about this hobby on our team.

Welcome, Dregg!

In other news, we've added a page detailing our Mission Statement, and put up a Contact Information page, so that you can easily find the WGP staffer you need.

Enjoy!

January 11, 2004: Happy New Year!

2004 has already started off with a bang for us - we're happy to announce Liz Teichman as our new RPG Coordinator for A Gazebo of Games! Liz has been a diehard RPG Game Master for us since the beginning, and we're pleased that she's signed on with us to bring our convention guests the very best in RPG gaming. Welcome, Liz!

Event submissions for A Gazebo of Games are now online - the event submission deadline is February 15th, and space is first-come-first-served, so get your submission in early!

Several of our long-standing GMs have mentioned that they'd like to receive something other than a convention t-shirt as a gift from us for running 12 hours of games. So, effective immediately, our GM policy is changing to the following:

  • GMs: Work 8 hours and WGP will comp your registration fee. Work 4 more hours, and receive a GM Gift.

What this means is that every convention we'll have a new gift for you. We can't tell you what it'll be yet, but it'll be a non-shirt item, with the WGP logo, that will only be given to GMs. If you have a suggestion for what you think the WGP GM Gift for A Gazebo of Games 2004 should be, please e-mail Trey and let her know. (She reserves the right to snicker at the more outrageous suggestions.)

There's also a change to our volunteer policy:

  • Volunteers:  For every 4 hours that you volunteer, you get 1 prize point (up to 5). In addition, if you volunteer for 8 hours, we'll comp your badge.

E-mail our Volunteer Coordinator, Ben Moskowitz, if you'd like to volunteer for AGoG 2004.

December 25, 2003: Happy holidays to everyone! We hope that all of you are enjoying a wonderful holiday - warm, safe, well-fed, and surrounded by those you love.  Thanks for spending another year with us, and we look forward to gaming and good times with you in the years to come.

November 17, 2004:  Thanks for making Lollagazebo 2003 a huge success! We had a great weekend at the Sheraton Raritan Center (our beautiful new hotel home), and from all the positive reports we're getting in, you did too!

Prize Guy Steve Hess reports that we went into Friday night with an unheard of amount of prize support - over $4000 in prizes! Remember that you can use your leftover prize vouchers from Lollagazebo 2003 at any of our future shows, so save them and bring them to A Gazebo of Games!

The final numbers from the Auction aren't in yet, but we raised about $100 this weekend for our favorite charity, the American Cancer Society. A great job, to help a great cause!

Special thanks go out to Mike Keegan and Melinda Gesslein, who joined our volunteer team in the 11th hour and dedicated an enormous amount of hours each to making sure that Lollagazebo ran smoothly. Thanks, guys - you were a huge help!

Special thanks also go out to the Looney Labs Trio - Andy, Kristin and Alison came into our convention with the enthusiasm and humor that only they can provide, and knocked the socks off our attendees. We had a fantastic time with them, and hope to see more of them in the future. Thanks again!

As for the rest of you - whether you were a GM, a volunteer or just came to game, thank you! We could not do this without your help and support!

November 2, 2003: You asked for it, and we've brought it to you! We've added two Living Greyhawk RPGA modules (Will of the People and Chain Reaction) to our schedule, at your request. Enjoy!

October 28, 2003: We've finalized the list of Exhibitors for Lollagazebo 2003 - we simply can't take even one more, as we're completely full!  We've got an incredible roster of Exhibitors for you this time, so take a moment and look at the full listing.

Remember that there's no fee to simply come and shop (though once you're at the convention, we know you won't be able to resist playing a few games), so if you need to make a good start to your winter holiday shopping, or just really need that obscure board game for yourself, drop by and visit the Exhibitors room at Lollagazebo!

October 20, 2003: An assortment of updates:

Our Guests of Honor schedule has been posted, as well as a list of all of the Tournaments happening at Lollagazebo 2003.

Attention Car Wars fans!  Our Car Wars events now have expanded descriptions, so take a look at the Minis schedule, and start building your vehicle!

For those of you who don't drive, we've posted the public transportation directions to Lollagazebo 2003 on our hotel page

And finally, the event schedule for Lollagazebo 2003 is now available in PDF format. Enjoy!

October 12, 2003: Updates to the Minis Schedule have been made - there are a whole slew of new events. There's far too many to list individually, so take a look for yourself, and enjoy!

October 7, 2003: We've added a LARP-only badge! If you're just planning on coming to LARP, you can get a weekend badge for $20. Remember that some LARPs may have an additional charge associated with them, payable to the LARP organizers at the door.

Further additions, changes, and deletions to the Lollagazebo 2003 schedule:

  • C2-11-C01 - Warhammer 40k CCG: Horus Heresy Pre-release has been added on Saturday, at 11am.

  • R2-24-R04 - Baron Munchausen RPG: Wagers, Wine, and Competitive Lying - has been added on Saturday at midnight.

September 30, 2003: The Lollagazebo registration page is up, and is working well. If you can't access it, it's likely that your office firewall is rejecting things that are on Port 95. Try again from home, or just e-mail your event schedule to Paul, our Registration Czar, and he'll put you into the system.

As tends to happen with convention schedules, there are additions, changes, and deletions to the schedule for Lollagazebo 2003.

Here's the ones we have so far:

  • R2-24-R06 - In Nomine: Out of the Mouths of Babes - has been cancelled at the request of the GM.

September 22, 2003: The schedule for Lollagazebo 2003 is up, and event registration is open. Enjoy!

September 19, 2003: We're incredibly pleased to announce that the Looney Labs Trio (aka Andy Looney, Kristin Looney and Alison 'Looney' Frane) have accepted our invitation and are now the Guests of Honor for Lollagazebo 2003!

We've been a big fan of Looney Labs for quite some time now - we not only love what they do, but how they do it. They not only make great games, but they do so with friendliness, style, and a commitment to having fun and eating Pop-Tarts. Having noticed that the Columbus Convention Center doesn't recycle, they took it upon themselves to provide Origins attendees with recycling bins, and took the cans and plastics to a recycling center themselves. We love that. If you find a group of friendly folks wearing tie-dye, lab coats, and rabbit ears, it's likely that they're with Looney Labs. We love that too.

We're psyched that they've accepted our invitation, and look forward to having them meet the Wild Gazebo convention-goers.

August 2, 2003: Two server changes in two months. It's enough to give us a collective migraine. Hopefully, this will be the last time we do this for a long, long time, and we can look forward to happy computer stability in the future.

The event submission deadline for Lollagazebo was July 15th. However, there are still a few spaces available, so if you've got an event that you'd love to run, submit it, and we'll do our best to fit it in. We'll have the full schedule of games online soon, but while you're waiting for that, here's a couple of teasers:

Live Mage Knight

Like Mage Knight? Ever wanted to be a Mage Knight? Teams of 3 will compete in a cardboard dungeon, laid out over an entire ballroom floor. Get the most points & advance to the next round. 12 players will compete at a time, with the remaining players taking the parts of the various monsters. Then the monsters and the mage knights switch! See you in November!

June 23, 2003: We're gearing up for Origins right now, and after that we'll be in full swing with plans for Lollagazebo!  If any of you are in Columbus this weekend, look for us - the WGP staff will be volunteering, running games, playing games and just generally having a great time. Just look for the maroon and black bowling shirts, and say hello!

A big Thank You to everyone who attended I18: Intercon Gazebo the weekend of June 13-15! We had a fabulous time, and were thrilled that so many of the Boston and DC Intercon folks came to New Jersey to play with us. Final attendance was around 110 (which we're told is consistent with attendance at the Intercons in DC), and we're very pleased by that, and committed to increasing our attendance and game offerings in the future.

Special thanks (in no particular order) goes to:

  • David Clarkson, for endless support and encouragement.

  • Dirk Parham and the Altered Realities Campaign (ARC) folks, for working hard to make sure that everyone was well fed and hydrated.

  • Steve Edelman and Sandy Hess, for running our Game Room and providing a *huge* stock of games for people to play when they weren't LARPing.

  •  Deb Davis, who provided music for the I18 Saturday night dance party.

  • Gordon Olmstead-Dean and Scott Mohnkern, for providing and setting up the sound system.

  • Everyone else who helped to set up or break down the party (you know who you are).

  • Mike Young, for hosting Shameless Plugs on Sunday morning during closing ceremonies.

  • Everyone who bought raffle tickets (especially Chad and Teem for buying so*many* of them!)

  • The NEIL and DC LARPA folks, who were a continual supply of advice and support. Thanks for making us feel part of the community, and for being so kind to the new con on the circuit.

  • Our fabulous ConCom, for rolling with the needs of an Intercon, and for stepping up to every challenge we threw at them!

Last, but certainly not least, we'd like to thank all of our wonderful GMs and GM teams, who worked so hard to provide interesting and entertaining LARP experiences for our attendees. As Paul pointed out during Closing Ceremonies, Intercon is the only place where the GMs are so important, almost half the program book is taken up by GM bios. We could never achieved what we did without you, and thank you profusely for running the games that you did.

After a lot of thought, we've decided not to have a NJ Intercon in 2004 - we learned so much with this experience (the needs of an Intercon being different from the needs of any other type of convention), that one year is just not enough time to implement all of the changes that we wish to make. We're not going away, and we're absolutely committed to bringing Intercon back to New Jersey time and time again. There will be another Intercon Gazebo in 2005 - we'll keep you posted with more information as our plans solidify.

We'll see all of you at Intercon D (where we're running Divus Ex: Greece), and at Intercon Mid-Atlantic, and we'll be back in 2005 for another Intercon Gazebo!

June 10, 2003: Well, there's good news and bad news today.

Horror in the New Millennium and Terminus have been cancelled, due to personal crises in the lives of the GMs.

Nap Time has been cancelled as well, at the request of the GM.

The good news is that TBA is sold out (well, good for the game, anyway. Not so good for those of you who wanted to play, but just haven't gotten around to signing up yet.)

And we've added a 3rd run of Limbo: The I18 Minimalist LARP, for all of you Sunday morning early-gamers.

Enjoy, and we'll see you this weekend!

May 22, 2003:  In response to a couple of requests, we've decided to offer Friday Only and Sunday Only badges for I18: Intercon Gazebo.  The Friday Only badge is $15 till June 8th, and $20 thereafter and at the door. The Sunday Only badge is $10 till June 8th, and $15 thereafter and at the door.

The Friday Only badge is upgradeable to a full weekend badge, just by paying the difference in cost. (You could upgrade the Sunday Only badge as well, but it might require a time machine.)

A few small changes to the I18: Intercon Gazebo roster:

  • Nap Time has had a description change - learn more about the game of Kindergarten Politics!

  • TBA has changed from 12 players to 8 players, at the request of the GMs.

May 15, 2003: Oooooffff....it's been a while. We're in the middle of transferring our website and e-mail servers over to another location, so things have been a bit of a mess. Please bear with us while we're in transition - hopefully, everything will be in place and working perfectly soon.

There have been several changes to the I18: Intercon Gazebo game roster:

  • Welcome to Avalon: Help the Fey? has been added to the schedule, at 11am on Saturday, and then again at 6pm on Saturday. Brought to you by the fine folks at LAIRE, who we're very happy to have join the Intercon Gazebo team.

  • Since the response to their Nobilis game has been a little low, Nightfall Productions has moved that game to Saturday afternoon, and added a run of their acclaimed Dark Ages Mind's Eye Theatre game to the schedule on Friday night. Come play it here, and then look for it at a convention near you so you can play it again!

  • For all you folks who are looking for something low-key to do on Sunday morning, we've added the I:18 Breakfast Brainstorm to the schedule. The topic is how to transform your favorite RPG into a LARP. Bring your breakfast and come chat with us!

See you in June!

April 18, 2003: We were so wrapped up in preparations for Intercon Gazebo, we completely forgot to thank everyone who attended Svaha: Contents Under Pressure!  We had a great time, and hope that everyone else who attended did as well. We had several new players, and it was wonderful to watch them as they met all of our veterans and got involved. Hope to see all of you again in July!

Just because the pre-registration deadline for I18: Intercon Gazebo has passed, that's no reason for you not to register. We'll be taking game registrations up until the week of the convention, so register today!

We regret to inform you that the LARP entitled To Buff or Not to Buff: A Buffy LARP, has been taken off the Intercon Gazebo schedule at the request of the GM.  However, we've added Shattered Gravestones, a game brought to you by the creative masterminds at NERO International, into the space that was vacated. We hope you'll join us in welcoming the NERO International team to the Intercon Gazebo roster - it looks like a fantastic game!

Hope to see you all in June!

April 3, 2003:  We've determined the dates for all of the remaining Svaha games, up to the end of our three-year campaign. Check our schedule page, and mark your calendars!

Also, for those of you who need a little reminder of where the Svaha game is taking place currently, we've added the Immunity Base document that we handed out at Svaha: Vigilance.

See you on Friday!

March 28, 2003:  Our I18: Intercon Gazebo section has been updated - with new LARPs!

We're happy to have not one, but two games by the famed LARP writer Don Ross. He'll be running Nap Time (which ran to much acclaim at Intercon C), and an all-new game he's written just for us - TBA. Glad to have you, Don, and we'll see you in June!

We'd also like to remind you that there's only a week until the pre-registration deadline for I18: Intercon Gazebo. Register today, and take advantage of the pre-registration rate!

We've updated quite a few things in the Svaha section - moved all of the racial information and plot synopsis into the New Players section, so that the main Svaha page isn't quite as cluttered. We've also put up a link to the Svaha mechanics system, so that all of you who need an online quick-reference (for creating new characters, or spending your development points) now have one. The mechanics document is rather large, so please be patient.  There's even a Skill/Spell Submission page, for those of you who are researching/creating new skills and spells for the game.

Hope to see you all at Svaha next weekend!

March 19, 2003: Many of you who attended A Gazebo of Games noticed a reporter wandering

around the convention - Beth Fand, of the Trenton Times.  Ms. Fand was doing an article on the 20th Anniversary Edition of Trivial Pursuit, and attended AGoG specifically to witness our Saturday afternoon tournament.

If anyone happens to have this past Sunday's edition of the Trenton Times, please let us know - we'd like to have a copy of the actual article for our archives.

Thanks to Steven Edelman, who ran the tournament, and all the players who played in it. Well done, guys!

March 15, 2003: Happy anniversary, Wild Gazebo Productions!

Wild Gazebo Productions is three years old today - three wonderful, exciting, amazing years. It's been a long road so far, and we've had our share of disappointments among the joys, but none of us here at WGP central would trade these years to have done anything other than what we did.

Our thanks to everyone who has helped us thus far - you know who you are, and we know exactly how much we owe our survival to your unstinting love and support. Our thanks as well to everyone who has ever attended a WGP event - we look forward to bringing you fun and entertaining events for years and years to come. We hope we'll be seeing you all again soon.

Happy anniversary!!

March 4, 2003: Intercon C this past weekend was a blast! We had a fantastic time, and have to thank the staff of Intercon C for their courtesy and friendliness. We look forward to seeing all of those faces at I18: Intercon Gazebo, this summer.

Speaking of Intercon Gazebo, the event schedule for the weekend is up, and registration is live. We're incredibly excited about the LARPs that are running, and flattered that so many wonderful GMs decided to bid games for WGP's first Intercon. With such incredible games, they're sure to fill up quickly, so register soon!

The final figures are in - we raised $152.50 for the American Cancer Society at A Gazebo of Games a few weeks ago. Our thanks to Mike Murtha and The Adventurers Club for running their Squighoppers event, and to all of the people who participated in the AGoG Auction - the American Cancer Society is a cause that's near and dear to our hearts, and we appreciate everything you've done to help us help them.

February 25, 2003: Thanks to everyone who came out to A Gazebo of Games this past weekend - it was wonderful to see all of our old friends again, and to see so many new faces. Special thanks goes out to our GMs and wonderful volunteer staff - there's absolutely no way we could pull off an amazing gaming weekend like AGoG without you!

We're passionate about bringing you the best in gaming conventions and events. Because of that, we love feedback of all kinds. If you attended A Gazebo of Games this weekend, please fill out a feedback form and let us know about your convention experience.

There's no time to rest - after taking our mandatory post-event day off, we're back in the office working on Intercon Gazebo. We've also started hopping on our plans for Lollagazebo 2003, coming up this November.

We've got a very busy spring ahead of us - there's Intercon C this weekend, and we're attending an assortment of conventions up and down the East Coast. Check our Convention/Event Schedule page to see where you can catch up with us next.

Just look for the bowling shirts!

February 19, 2003: 48 hours until A Gazebo of Games, and the WGP Home Office printers are working overtime. Everything is just about ready for our move to the hotel tomorrow, and we're in great shape for the convention this weekend.

In the spirit of 'more game, less money', Nightfall Productions has decided to offer a discount to the players of their Star Wars and Dark Ages: Mind's Eye Theater LARPs. The charge for each game is $10 - *however*, if you play in both games, the charge is only $15 - a $5 discount!

See you this weekend!

February 13, 2003: Our last couple of TBAs and TBDs have been filled in, and the program book is off to the printer. November 26, 2002: Wild Gazebo Productions is proud to announce that we're partnering with LARPA (The Live-Action Role-Playing Association) to bring you I18: Intercon Gazebo!

Intercon is the semi-annual Live Action Role-Playing convention of the Live-Action Role-Playing Association, encompassing Live Action RPGs of all styles and genres - the largest multi-genre all-LARP convention that we know of. And it's more than just games! There will also be vendors, parties, seminars, and social get-togethers, as well as other LARP-related events. We're extremely excited  to be able to license the Intercon name, and bring Intercon back to New Jersey once again.

We are currently accepting event bids for I18: Intercon Gazebo. The bid submission deadline is January 1st, 2003.

Never run a LARP before? Now is your chance! Intercon is the perfect place to run your first game. LARP-running pro? Intercon is the best way to bring your game to new players!

We'll see you in New Jersey in the summer of 2003, for LARP experiences that are sure to delight LARP enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels!

November 25, 2002:  Thanks to everyone who attended Svaha: Vigilance this past weekend! We had a great time, and from the feedback, so did all of you.

Our next Svaha event isn't until late March/ early April, so we're looking into doing some sort of interim event, perhaps in January. If you have any ideas as to when, where, or what kind of Svaha event you'd like to see, please let us know.

November 10, 2002: The event submission deadline for A Gazebo of Games has passed - many thanks to everyone who submitted an event. We're busy putting everything together right now, and we'll have the schedule up within the next couple of weeks.

See you next weekend at Svaha: Vigilance!

October 15, 2002:  Thanks to everyone who came out to Shorecon this weekend, and played in Surprise Party!  The game was just about full, and we hope everyone had a wonderful time - we know that we had a great time running it.

Some of the WGP team attended a meeting of Regional Convention Organizers while at Shorecon this weekend, and would like to once again thank everyone who attended.  It was great to meet all of you (putting faces to some of the names!), and we look forward to sharing ideas, plans, and conversation at meetings in the future. We were delighted at the scope of experience in the room, and hope that we can help each other to improve events in this region in the future. Thanks again.

After looking over our numbers again, we've realized that we can afford to change the GM requirements from what was originally published. Here's what it has changed to:

  • If you GM/Volunteer for 8 hours, WGP will comp your registration fee.

  • If you work an additional 4 hours (for a total of 12), you'll receive a free convention t-shirt, in addition to the badge comp.

The event registration deadline for A Gazebo of Games is November 1st, 2002.

Hope to see you in February!

September 24, 2002: Thanks to everyone who came out to Lollagazebo! Over 250 gamers came out for the event, and for an amazing gaming weekend.  We had a fantastic time, and from the sound of the feedback we've been getting, so did all of you!

Seeing all of you having such fun has only inspired us for A Gazebo of Games - we've already started planning the event to have more games, more diversity, more dealers...everything you already love, just more of it! We're adding Collectable Card Games to our roster, and a whole slew of Special Events. If you'd like to be involved, or would like to submit a game, just fill out your event information on our GM Submission page.

Have an idea for something you'd like to see at A Gazebo of Games? E-mail us, and tell us all about it!

The end-of-con badge recycling drawing has a winner - Dan Bordier, Badge # 223, has won a free full-weekend registration to A Gazebo of Games! Congratulations, Dan, and thanks for helping us to recycle plastic and help the environment!

We're pleased to tell you that Mike Murtha's Squighoppers event raised several hundred dollars for the American Cancer Society. WGP is happy to help out with such great events, and for a cause that's so near and dear to our hearts.

Now that we've wrapped things up for Lollagazebo, we've turned our attention to Shorecon, where Michael Costalas, Paul Manjourides, and Matt Volk will be running a mini-LARP they've written in the Svaha system, called Surprise Party.  It's only a couple of weeks away - hope to see you there!

September 19, 2002: Lollagazebo starts tomorrow!  We're incredibly excited, even as things here at WGP Central are in a flurry of preparations.  Everything is in place - the badges are printed, the prizes are boxed, flyers and signs and envelopes are ready to go.

The convention t-shirts, which will be on sale at registration for $10 for sizes S-XL, and $12 for XXL and XXXL, arrive tomorrow morning. We tortured our t-shirt company to get the shirts *just* right, and we're sure that you'll be just as pleased as we are at how they came out.

We're happy to announce two last-minute additions to our schedule:

M35-09 - Heroclix - Head-to-Head Tournament

M28-20 - Mechwarrior: Dark Age - To the Rescue!

For more information on either of these events, please see the Miniatures Descriptions page.

We've had one event cancellation: we regret to inform you that Eric Reitz' Call of Cthulhu Event (event code R29-14) has been cancelled, at the request of the GM.

Trying to figure out how to get to the hotel? We've added a hotel information page, with driving directions, bus and train info and the phone numbers of local cab companies.

See you tomorrow!

September 10, 2002: 10 days till Lollagazebo!  Things are proceeding extremely well, and we're confident that the convention will be an incredible gaming experience.

We're pleased to inform you that there will be a masseuse onsite!  Jean M. Michaels, CMT, will be available for chair side massage Friday Sept. 20th from 6 pm - 10 pm, and Sat. Sept. 21st from 11am - 6 pm.  She is available on a walk-up basis, though she will have a sign-up sheet available for when things get busy (as we're sure they will!)

Her rates are as follows:

10 minutes - $15

15 minutes - $25

20 minutes - $30

Due to popular demand, NERO NJ has added a second run of their module for Lollagazebo, and will be running NERO: The Tower Inn-Between on Saturday night from 8pm to midnight in addition to their Friday night run.

Geoff Schaller and Karen Blisnuk have decided to combine their Clan War Tournaments into one *huge* Clan War mega-tournament!  M26-09 and M24-14 have combined to one event, under event code M26-09.

As a special prize for this event, a personalized kimono (ladies or men's cut) or kimono & hakama (for men and samurai-ko who prefer warrior's garb to court fashion) made by Geoff Schaller will go to the winner!.

The following events have had changes, which are currently reflected in the online schedule:

R21-9 -  Stuperpowers: Mars Needs Uranus has been cancelled at the request of the GM.

R22-20 - GURPS Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Curious Cadaver has been cancelled at the request of the GM.

R26-24 - Baron Munchausen RPG: Wagers, Wine, and Competitive Lying has been cancelled at the request of the GM.

B11-20 Carabande - Piscataway Gran Prix, has been cancelled at the request of the GM.

B18-24 WizWar has moved from Friday at midnight to Friday at 8pm, and has become B11-20.

R21-14 - Paradise Cursed: When Your God Says Jump, has moved from Saturday at 2pm, to Saturday, 9am, and has become R22-9.

August 26, 2002: For your informational pleasure, difficulties and age ranges have been added to the Lollagazebo schedules. Enjoy!

Don't forget: The pre-registration deadline is August 30th!

August 21, 2002: There have been two changes to the event listing:

Call of Cthulhu: Tales of Horror has been changed from Saturday midnight to Saturday at 2pm.

Hackmaster: Part I has been changed from Saturday at 9am, to Saturday at 2pm.

The online schedules have been updated to reflect these changes.

August 20, 2002: The RPGA schedule is complete, and the grid has been put up for your enjoyment.

Additionally, we've updated the Convention/Event Schedule, listing everything we're planning through the beginning of 2004. We seem to be on a schedule of 6 or 7 gaming events per year, which is about all we can handle without overstressing ourselves.  March of 2004, where our current schedule ends, is the last event of our three-year Svaha campaign - strange to think that we're halfway through already. We'll probably take some time off from Svaha (not from conventions, just from Svaha) after that, to tweak the system a bit, revamp the racial documents, and recharge our creative batteries.

We're 10 days away from the pre-registration deadline for Lollagazebo - if you want to take advantage of the discounted rate, register today! Remember, your pre-registration must be paid, (post-marked by August 30th, if you're mailing us a check), to take advantage of the pre-registration rate.

August 19, 2002: We're pleased and proud to unveil the teaser for our RPGA Living Greyhawk Interactive. The Interactive will run from 1pm-5pm on Saturday, September 21st. Enjoy!

August 8, 2002: Thanks once again to everyone who played at Svaha: No Sleep 'Til Wreska. We had an absolute blast, and hope that all of you did as well. Special thanks goes out to our amazing Scenery team - Janette Beck, Geoff Schaller, and Matt Volk - for their utterly astounding sets! Thanks again guys - you really knocked our socks off this time!

Lollagazebo is currently looking for volunteers, to help with setup, cleanup, and general staffing duties at the convention. No experience is required, and if you volunteer 8 hours of your time, we'll comp your badge to the convention. Contact our Logistics Chief, Michael Costalas, for more information.

We can't give you the full RPGA schedule just yet - but we *can* give you the descriptions of the modules we'll have at Lollagazebo, to whet your appetite! The one description we don't have yet is for our Living Greyhawk Interactive - we'll get you that just as soon as we can. Enjoy!

We're pleased to announce that we're running a Svaha mini-LARP at Shorecon this year! Surprise Party, written by Michael Costalas, Matt Volk, and Paul Manjourides, is a 7-hour LARP designed for 24 players.  No experience with the Svaha game system or any previous Svaha games is necessary to play, and new players are encouraged! You must register for the game through the Shorecon website, but we'd also like you to fill out a pre-registration form, so that you can be cast appropriately to your style of play.

July 15, 2002: As promised, the event schedules for Lollagazebo are now up. We'll be adding more to them in the following days and weeks (more events, event difficulty ratings, age ranges, links from the event to the description), but this should be enough to get you all started. Enjoy!

Events do fill up quickly, so register soon, and take advantage of the pre-registration rate!

GMs - ShoreCon is looking for event submissions. Do your part - drop by their website and submit an event.

July 13, 2002: Thanks to everyone who submitted events for Lollagazebo - we're full!  The full schedule will be posted by July 15th.

Also in the good news category, the dates have been set for A Gazebo of Games this winter!  At the Embassy Suites hotel in Piscataway, February 21-23rd, 2003, the WGP team will be doing what we do best, only bigger!   We'll post more info here as soon as it comes in.

July 9, 2002: We're home once again, happy and exhausted from 4 days of gaming. Origins was fantastic, and we're already planning our return trip next year.

Having taken a day to decompress and get some sleep, we've thrown ourselves back into WGP planning. The GM event submission deadline for Lollagazebo is *tomorrow*, July 10th. There's still a few spaces left on our schedule, so if you're thinking of running an event, get your event form in ASAP.  The whole schedule goes live on our website as of July 15th, so there's no time for stragglers.

Svaha players - see you in 10 days!

June 29, 2002:  It's been a busy couple of weeks. We're hard at work on Lollagazebo - rounding up GMs, getting the word out, finding dealers, and seeking out advertisers for the program book.  It's shaping up to be an utterly fantastic event - we've got some wonderful GMs onboard, each track is looking very diverse, and we're sure that gamers of all types will find things that they'll enjoy.

But Svaha: No Sleep 'Til Wreska is coming up in a few weeks, and we're trying not to fall behind on all the work that still needs to be done to make that event happen. Among those things - we've updated the end of the Story so Far, to catch it up with recent events.

Origins is next weekend, as well. If you're there, look for us and say hello- Steve, Sandy, Paul, Ben, Mike, and Trey will all be in Columbus, sporting our ever-famous bowling shirts. (It's also Steve and Sandy's wedding anniversary on July 4th, so if you see them, tell them congratulations.)

June 11, 2002:  We're pleased and proud to introduce Wild Gazebo Productions' first full-weekend gaming convention: Lollagazebo. Since WGP was created for this purpose, you can imagine how excited we are - it's not often that you get to see one of your dreams come to realization.

Held at the lovely Embassy Suites Piscataway, Lollagazebo features Board games, Role-Playing Games (including RPGA events), Miniatures Games, Live-Action Role-Playing Games, and Dealer's Suites.

Currently, we are taking event submissions, as well as dealer bids. The event submission deadline is July 10th - the full schedule of events will
